Our Alzheimer’s Program is a community within a community – a separate secured unit at Carriage Hill designed for people with Alzheimer’s and other memory-impairment disorders. We have created a safe, therapeutically designed environment with specialized services that address the specific needs of our residents. Our goal is to help residents maximize their functional abilities to maintain as much independence as possible.

Carriage Hill Offers:

Family Partnerships: Family is a very important part of care. Our staff develop strong partnerships with family members. This helps alleviate the strains of daily care giving – while giving family members the opportunity to stay actively involved.

Expert staff: Care is provided by a staff with advanced training in all aspects of the disease. Our staff also works with the same group of residents, all of whom have a similar functional ability level. Such permanent staff assignments help promote special relationships between resident and caregiver – and that means better care.

Comprehensive program for residents with varying needs: Some individuals require limited assistance; others need much more. Our comprehensive Alzheimer’s Program provides the full range of care and services for seniors with mid to early moderate cognitive and functional impairment, as well as for those individuals with moderate to early severe cognitive and functional impairments.

Behavioral interventions: We use an analytical approach to identifying the cause and effect of a specific behavior, with our ultimate goal to create a calm environment.
